Raise your hands, early risers: join Nan for our first farmers market excursion class!
We’ll meet at Nan’s favorite Saturday market in Pasadena, select fresh vegetables, herbs and cheese from our amazing farmers and artisans, then return to the mill. Back at Grist & Toll, each student will make our favorite galette dough using Sonora and heirloom cornmeal, then fill and bake with our market bounty. We’ll also use the fresh veg for a frittata to enjoy together at the end of class.
Going to a local market is one of the best, simple joys available to us year round in California. This class is all about capitalizing on how pastry made from local grains showcases and elevates the experience of baking from scratch with seasonal produce.
Once purchased, Grist & Toll classes are non-refundable
Unless otherwise stated, all classes are for ages 18+
All class ingredients and materials will be provided by Grist & Toll, but please bring your own apron.
