If you’ve been paying attention to the latest bread and pastry trends, you’ve definitely seen photos of salt bread hitting your feeds. These little soft, fluffy treats are very of-the-moment, fun to make and even more fun to eat.

In this class, we’ll use the tangzhong method to bump up tenderness and hydration. While delicious on their own, we’ll be gilding the lily by filling them with black sesame pastry cream and strawberry preserves for the modern PB&J of your dreams.

If you’re curious about whether salt buns can live up to all of the current media hype, this class is for you. Because….yes, they really do live up to the hype!

The line forms behind us for any bread roll recipe that is not only enriched with butter, but is also shaped around a generous cube of butter. Staying on theme, we’ll be using a flour blend of our white wheat varieties which are also loaded with those buttery, toasty flavors. More butter, more better!
